In response to the announcement today by Minister Harjit Sajjan that Canada is pledging $100 million CAD to the UN emergency appeal for Ukraine, UN Refugee Agency Representative in Canada, Rema Jamous Imseis, said:
“We thank Canada for its generous contribution of $100 million to the UN’s emergency appeal for Ukraine at such a critical time. The UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, and partners are on the ground, working around the clock to provide shelter and emergency assistance in what is quickly becoming Europe’s largest refugee crisis in decades.”
